When Light Refuses

When the expected light does not arrive, something else begins to speak.

This series was created during a winter Photohike in the Brackvenn (High Fens, Belgium), on a morning without sunrise, color, or drama.

Instead of atmosphere, the landscape offered structure.

Instead of spectacle, lines.

Instead of brilliance, clarity.

Working consciously in black and white, the images explore reduction, repetition, and the quiet dialogue between line and empty space.

Not photographs of a place, but of what remains when light refuses to perform.

Wenn das erwartete Licht ausbleibt, beginnt etwas anderes zu sprechen.

Diese Serie entstand auf einem winterlichen Photohike im Brackvenn, an einem Morgen ohne Sonnenaufgang, ohne Farbe, ohne Drama.

Statt Stimmung bot die Landschaft Struktur.

Statt Effekten Linien.

Statt Leuchten Klarheit.

Der bewusste Wechsel zur Schwarzweißfotografie öffnete den Blick für Reduktion, Wiederholung und das Dazwischen - für Beziehungen zwischen Linie und leerem Raum.

Nicht Bilder eines Ortes, sondern Bilder dessen, was bleibt, wenn sich das Licht verweigert.
